From Mr. Horn
"Dear Parents and Scouts,
At the January 24th Troop meeting I suggested to
the
Scouts that they start to consider attending Camp Minsi this summer.
Here are the preliminary details.
Date: July 27 - Aug 2
Cost $240 per Scout payable to Troop 660 by March
30
Physicals are needed- no person can attend camp
without a current class 3 physical. Scouts physical is good for 3 years
before needing to see doctor for update. Adults over 40 need update
every year. I have copies of blank physical form if you need one. Also
available online at
www.Scouting.org/forms.
If your Scout has any special/daily meds there is a
form to be filled out so that the camp Nurse can administer the meds.
These are just the basics, more to come as camp
approaches."

Five Borough Bike Tour
Saturday May 4
This event is now on the troop calendar. Mr. Connolly is the
event Champion and will send out information. We will camp
Saturday night 5/3 somewhere in NJ close to Manhatten. Cost is
$43 for adults and $25 for scouts under 14 if registration accompanies
that of an adult and both are in by March 28. See:
http://www.bikenewyork.org/rides/fbbt/index.html for more
details. Training rides will be in March and April. The
March ride, Sun. the 30th, will be off-road in White Clay Creek
Preserve and Middle Run Preserve (they are connected). The April
ride, Sun.the 13th, will be on-road from Middletown to Chesapeake City
and back, about 26 miles (see below for further information).
Revised 4-10-2008
On-Road Biking
Sunday April 13
12 noon to 4-5 pm (depending on wind,
stop for food)
Submitted by Mr. Hodson
Our next event is a road
biking trip
in southern Delaware. It is scheduled for Sunday April 13, with
a "weather date" of either Sat or Sun the next weekend. We will
be riding for about 26
miles
starting and ending in Middletown DE. This event is open to all
scouts.
We desperately need adult participation. Anyone
participating
on the NY 5-Borough Ride is strongly encouraged to attend this ride.
The
rough plan is to meet at the church at 12PM, drive to Middletown, ride
for about 2.5 hours, snack somewhere, and return to the church by
4-5PM.
More details will be forthcoming.
Here are some maps of the route. The outgoing route is marked
green. The return from Chesapeake City can either take the
outgoing route in reverse, or take some different roads marked in red
until rejoining the green route.
